1. Prepare and submit proposals on issues of academic and scientific activity within the competence of the Doctoral School, including proposals on:
1.1. Basic directions of academic activity of the Doctoral School;
1.2. Distribution of state-funded study places for doctoral study programmes, as well as the distribution of funding for the implementation of doctoral study programmes;
1.3. Selection criteria for doctoral thesis supervisors and reviewers;
1.4. Joint implementation of doctoral study programmes;
1.5. Changes to doctoral study programmes;
1.6. Principles for the establishment of promotion councils;
1.7. Strategy, policy and perspectives for the development of doctoral studies;
2. Provide support to the Director of the Doctoral School and the management of the University of Latvia in matters of quality management, control and supervision of scientific activity and the implementation of doctoral study programmes at the University of Latvia;
3. Promote the development of doctoral study programmes.
